Join Merry Lea this fall for an “enchanted” night hike! Trail guides will lead groups by lantern-light to meet real “live” animals on our trails. These friendly creatures will tell you about their diets, habits and favorite places. Our costumed staff and volunteers will answer questions about life as a native Indiana animal. Hikes are approximately one hour long and head out about every 25 minutes. While you wait for a guide, enjoy music and snacks. End the evening sipping hot cocoa around a campfire! This family-friendly evening is a great alternative to Halloween events that are too scary for young children.

This is a group ride for all ages and abilities. There will be a option of three rides available. This will be held between 9am - 4pm. Gene Stratton Porter site on Rome City IN. Begin 2024 with a walk through Chain O’Lakes State Parks beautiful winter landscape. Meet the Naturalists at the Boat Rental Parking Lot for a 1.5-mile guided hike followed by hot cocoa and cookies ($1.00 suggested cash donation). In the case of extreme cold, the hike will still be held, but it may be shortened.

5k event held by Noble Trails, starting at Gene Stratton Porter State Historic Site. The race will be held on the last Saturday in April, starting at 9:00 am.

Meet at the Sand Lake beach at Chain O'Lakes and be prepared to wade out to the fire in the water and roast your s'mores. S'mores fixings and roasting sticks will be provided as supplies last, but feel free to bring your own goodies to cook. This is a fun time for all ages!
