Noble County is awash in fairies, gnomes and other magical creatures. Families can find over 70 fairy and gnome homes around the county and improve literacy by reading each creature's unique story. The Art Hammer Wetlands is the largest ACRES preserve. Its habitats include a swamp forest with cottonwood and sycamore trees, upland forest with oaks and hickories, a small lake, and areas of low wetlands. You'll find wood ducks, mallards, and coots on the water; woodland birds among the trees, and great blue and green herons walking along the shores. Cardinal flowers, marsh marigolds, blue flag iris and marsh mallow are a few of the flowers that bloom here.
