Speical Report: 2026 Indiana Tourism Awards
The Indiana Destination Development Corporation (IDDC), also known as Visit Indiana, has announced at the Indianapolis Zoo that Alvin and Elsie Miller, owners of the Davis Mercantile in Shipshewana, are this year’s recipients of the Will Koch Indiana Tourism Leadership Award. Amy Howell also presented Doug Weisheit, Indiana State Festivals Association (ISFA) Coordinator
and the ISFA1 Driver, with the Visit Indiana Leadership Award.

Additionally, IDDC honored 12 tourism industry representatives from across the state with Hoosier Hospitality Awards for their exceptional service in roles related to hotels, restaurants, attractions, and visitor destinations.

“These 12 individuals represent what Hoosier Hospitality means,” said Amy Howell, IDDC Interim CEO. “Because of people like this, Indiana’s tourism and hospitality industry continues to shine.”
Among this year’s honorees is Cyndi Schlemmer, the Secretary and Volunteer Coordinator at the Ligonier Visitor Center & Heritage Station Museum, as well as the Secretary of the Noble County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Inc. in Noble County, Indiana.

On behalf of everyone at Visit Noble County, we would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations and support. Cyndi’s commitment to welcoming visitors and celebrating the history of Noble County is evident in all her efforts. This statewide recognition is truly well-deserved.
