Tourism Matters IN Indiana! A new report on the 2022 Economic Contribution of Tourism in Noble County was just released and was commissioned by the Indiana Destination Development Corporation in partnership with Visit Noble County.

Indiana Tourism Growth


A study from the Indiana Destination Development Corporation and Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch highlights the growth and positive impact of Indiana's tourism industry in Noble County and its local economy.


“Local tourism has continued to be a catalyst for economic growth at the county level," said IDDC Secretary and CEO, Elaine Bedel. "As visitors explore our unique communities, they not only experience our genuine Hoosier hospitality, but they also contribute significantly to the prosperity of the local businesses they visit. From quaint main streets to rich cultural attractions, local tourism enriches our communities and creates a sense of pride that ripples throughout the state."

Noble County Tourism Growth


Here are some noteworthy points extracted from the Noble County Economic Impact Report: The 2022 Economic Impact Study showed that visitors to Noble County spent $32.3 million on goods and services. Noble County Tourism supported 319 jobs, and those jobs in Noble paid out $7.4 million in total wages. The study also indicated that $3.2 million in taxes were generated at the state and federal levels for Noble County, Indiana.


Noble County Tourism's overall economic impact has grown again! Tourism in Noble County is continuing to grow, and people working in Noble County are supported by visitors to the county. Noble County tourism supported 319 jobs, of which 270 were directly employed in a tourism-related job. Tourism is the 12th-largest industry in Noble County and has shown the most growth of any industry in Noble County based on the 2022 data.


Grace Caswell, the Executive Director of the Noble County Convention and Visitors Bureau, shared her thoughts and insights, saying, “Tourism spending is crucial for supporting local communities. It helps small businesses, restaurants, attractions, museums, and lodging establishments to flourish. Visit Noble County's initiatives aim to foster a sense of pride in the region by offering interactive experiences that preserve its cultural heritage. Interestingly enough, in 2022, tourism represented just 1.5% of total Noble employment, but it had the highest rate of growth of all sectors at 14.3%. This is the second year in a row that Tourism in Noble County has been the leading industry for growth in Noble County.
