Year round

The Art Hammer Wetlands is the largest ACRES preserve. Its habitats include a swamp forest with cottonwood and sycamore trees, upland forest with oaks and hickories, a small lake, and areas of low wetlands. You'll find wood ducks, mallards, and coots on the water; woodland birds among the trees, and great blue and green herons walking along the shores. Cardinal flowers, marsh marigolds, blue flag iris and marsh mallow are a few of the flowers that bloom here.
